MINDSET IS KEY

 

Positive perceptions about your own health and confidence in your healthy habits are the secret weapons you need to reach your goals.Establishing a growth mindset can be a key to your success. A growth mindset views one’s abilities as capable of expansion; a fixed mindset views our capacities as limited. Mindsets, transform the notions of effort and failure. If we believe we can grow, efforts promise rewards and failures can become sources of development. Without that underlying growth mindset, effort and failure simply drain us. 

 

Tammy’s approach is to reframe limits into challenges, and challenges into sources of opportunity and growth.

 

FIVE STEPS TO A MINDSET MAKEOVER

 

Trust in Yourself

 

Truly believing you can achieve your health and wellness goals may go a long way to helping you succeed. Saying to yourself… “I can achieve my diet and exercise goals, I am capable” changes your perception. We need to think, believe, and act in a manner that supports good health.

VISUALIZE WHAT YOU DESIRE

Envision the way you would like to see yourself. What positive feelings and opportunities may arise from feeling physically and mentally healthy? Visualize possible roadblocks and the ways you will overcome them.

THINK LONG TERM

A healthy lifestyle happens in baby steps. FIND YOUR WHY as this will keep you motivated and disciplined.  Remind yourself the changes you are making are taking you down the right path. Expecting too much can backfire in you doubting your ability to achieve your goals. Focus on mini goals to keep the momentum going.

BE KIND TO YOURSELF

YOU are likely you are your harshest critic. Create a supportive inner dialogue to be able to achieve the exercise and diet goals you have set. Start using strategic decision making “is this action supporting my goals?” Purposely remind yourself you are worth it. Reward yourself.

ESCAPE FLAWED THOUGHT PATTERNS

If you think, you are doomed to fail you likely will. Redefine your thought patterns and create a positive, helpful, self-fulfilling prophecy.
